Christmas retail LEGO levels
Christmas buying is in full swing, and that means that the LEGO
shelves at retail stores are going to be hit pretty hard. The
Wal-Mart I was at today didn't have near the selection that they had just a month ago.
My
local Meijer has about 50% empty shelves in the LEGO section, but I
think that may be due to their Buy 1 Get 1 Free sale the day after
Thanksgiving. Interestingly enough, Meijer did have the new NXT sets, but they were with the educational toys instead of with the other LEGO.
The Target here had pretty good stock. Target is also the only store I've seen that has the new 7905 Building Crane set.
Toys
R Us, as usual, has the best selection around. They're the only
store that still has any Harry Potter. They have exclusive
selling rights in the USA to the Viking line, and there are several
other TRU-only sets.
Supposedly LEGO hasn't come up short against demand here in the USA, but only time will tell if retail stores have anything left but Bionicle on their shelves on December 26th.
